About Me I have been an Accredited Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) since 2000. For 9 years (1993 – 2002) I was an advice writer (agony uncle) for a number of publications. My reason for specialising in eating disorders is specific and personal: in my later teens I developed anorexia. At the time, where I was living, there was no specialist help and I did not want to enter the world of medical/chemical intervention. Instead I looked inside myself and found the information, and the process, for curing my own eating disorder. It is in the last two years that I have started to develop my own, specific, eating disorder recovery programme. I have been influenced by a number of helpful approaches I have encountered over the years. My approach is based firmly on offering information and support for the individual to find their own way through unlocking the trauma of a disorder, and recovering a normal eating and functioning life.
